You guys have been doing great so far… keep up the good work. This is not the way to go. It will be specific new features they hear about from somewhere like a youtube video.

I think the potential to use blender for these tasks were already included in 2. I only have one question because I failed to find a solution despite the many tries: is the particle hair missing in the final render a bug, or am I missing something key? Instead, when you are on the corner of an area you will see a crosshair which indicates you can then hold down your left mouse button and split the area.

Originally answered this for the question when is blender 8. They have a pretty significant list before release. Their is also supposed to be at least on more release before that 2. At current, I believe there are between 10—12 full time staff on the project. It is not an insignificant project, so I fully expect it to come out and not disappear a bit like gimp and it's plugin page did two years ago they seem to be in a better place now.
